How to Get the UAE Remote Working Visa 2026? Rules & Regulations 2026
The United Arab Emirates (UAE)
has officially opened applications for its Remote Working Visa, allowing
professionals who work for overseas companies to live in the UAE while
continuing their current international jobs.
This visa is initially issued for
one year and can be renewed upon meeting the eligibility requirements.
A key feature of this visa is
that applicants do not need a local sponsor or a job in the UAE. Remote workers
must be employed by a foreign company and provide proof of permanent
employment.
Important Change for 2026
From 27 January 2026, applicants
will be required to submit bank statements for the previous six months.
Earlier, statements for only three months were sufficient. This change aims to
ensure minimum employment duration and income stability.
Income and Required Documents
Applicants must meet the minimum
salary requirement set by the UAE and provide proof of stable income through
bank statements. In addition, applicants must have valid UAE-recognized health
insurance and submit a letter from their employer confirming permission for
remote work.
Application Process and Fees
Applications can be submitted
online from inside or outside the UAE. In Abu Dhabi, approved typing centers
also process applications. The official fee is approximately USD 81, excluding
medical test and Emirates ID fees. Processing usually takes five to seven
working days.
Family Sponsorship
Remote Working Visa holders can
also sponsor residency permits for their immediate family members, including
spouses, children, and parents, provided standard residency regulations are
met.
Promoting Remote Work in the UA
This visa allows professionals to
work legally without entering the local job market. Through this initiative,
the UAE gains long-term residents who contribute to the local economy through
their spending. The program is based on Dubai’s Virtual Working Program (2020)
and follows similar models adopted by countries such as Estonia, Barbados, and
Cyprus.
Important Reminder
Working remotely without a valid
visa may lead to fines, tax issues, or immigration restrictions. With the new
rules and regulations, the UAE Remote Working Visa provides a legal and secure
pathway for remote professionals.
